ABOUT

Anthem Music Therapy

What is Music Therapy?

Music Therapy is the clinical and evidenced-based use of music interventions to reach individualized, non-musical goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. Music therapy addresses, but is not limited to, academic, fine or gross motor, speech, emotional, and social goals.  Applications in a music therapy setting incude singing, instrument playing, movement to music, music and manipulatives, and music and literacy.  Because music is a powerful and non-threatening medium, unique outcomes are possible. With young children, music therapy provides a unique variety of music experiences in an intentional and developmentally appropriate manner to effect changes in a child’s behavior and facilitate development of his/her communication, social/emotional, sensory-motor, and/or cognitive skills.

Our Anthem

Our mission is to provide quality music therapy services, to support and build up the families of our clients, and to serve Christ through our everyday work. We believe that God's design is good even in disability and He has given each of us individualized abilities to use for His kingdom.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
